Event Details

The Community Woodshop is available to current PNA members who are 18+ years old. Woodworkers of all abilities are welcome. You must attend our Community Woodshop Orientation to register for this class. All listed dates cover the same necessary content. Registration closes 1 day before the first class session.

This 2-part, hands-on class is required for all PNA Community Woodshop users. Learn basic woodworking and tool safety principles to use the Community Woodshop during open hours. After attending the free 1-hour Community Woodshop Orientation, students can register for both sessions.

  • Session 1 – Students use a jointer, planer, table saw, and chop saw to flatten, square, and cut a piece of wood to specific measurements.
  • Session 2 – Students shape their wood piece from Session 1 into a small, useful project using the bandsaw, drill press, sander and router.

To use the shop during open hours, students must successfully complete both 3-hour sessions. Enrollment is limited to 3 students per class.

Attendees should be prepared to fill out our Liability Waiver and Code of Conduct Agreement (if they have not already completed them).
